Cassidy 'ready to return' to where career boomed

Nick Cassidy is "proud" to have played a small part in Jaguar's history in Formula E, ahead of their 100th E-Prix on Saturday.

Cassidy only joined the factory outfit at the start of this season, although did race for their customer team – Envision – in 2023.

Just in the opening four rounds of Season 10, last year's vice-champion has already won a race and claimed a further two podiums for the Coventry-based outfit. Cassidy also leads the drivers' championship.

He recognises he has not been with Jaguar for long but has tracked their staggering progress in the category.

"Although I have only competed for Jaguar TCS Racing in four of its 100-race journey, during this time I’ve been able to witness the great progress made over the last eight seasons and have been able to add to our points, podiums and wins tally," said Cassidy.

"I’m really proud to be a part of making history with the team and am looking forward to more races together."

'Fantastic memories'

The inaugural Tokyo E-Prix is not only a big weekend for the team, it is also a special one for Cassidy.

Similarly to Sacha Fenestraz, it could even be classed as somewhat of a home race for the Jaguar driver, as he spent six years racing in Japan.

In that time, Cassidy won the Japanese F3 title in 2015, the Super GT - GT500 championship in 2017 and the Super Formula category in 2019.

"Tokyo is such an exciting race for me," added the New Zealander. "I spent a large period of my racing career in Japan, and I’m ready to return with fantastic memories.

"The Japanese fans are very passionate about their motorsport, so I’m hoping I can give them something to cheer about."
