Max Verstappen's run of consecutive pole positions ended with the sprint shootout at the Chinese Grand Prix, but he will have the chance to keep his grand prix qualifying streak alive for the weekend's main event.
The Dutchman has taken four grand prix poles from four to start the year, but had to settle for a second-row start for the sprint at the Shanghai International Circuit, where he will line up in fourth.

Christian Horner has contradicted Sergio Perez's claim that he expects his Red Bull future to be sorted imminently.

Why Norris' Sprint pole lap was reinstated by stewards
McLaren boss Andrea Stella has explained why the F1 stewards elected to reinstate Lando Norris' Chinese Grand Prix Sprint pole position.
In a wet-and-wild SQ3, Norris pumped in a superb time of 1:57.940s in the treacherous conditions, only for the lap to be quickly deleted for exceeding track limits on the final Turn 16 before he then started what proved to be his pole lap.

Hamilton was 'excited' by arrival of rain for China Sprint Shootout
Lewis Hamilton "came alive" once rain hit Chinese Grand Prix Sprint Shootout qualifying, as he secured his best result since the first Sprint with second on the grid.
In wet and wild conditions, Hamilton appeared on for pole position for Saturday morning's shorter race in SQ3, climbing to the top of the times, especially as Lando Norris's time was deleted for track limits at Turn 16.

Why Verstappen and Red Bull might only be third-best in China
Things did not go to plan for Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez in the final part of sprint qualifying, at the first Chinese Grand Prix since 2019.
Verstappen and Perez cruised through to SQ3 but had to settle for fourth and sixth respectively, after a sudden downpour caused chaos. Both Red Bull drivers looked uncomfortable in the wet conditions and struggled to keep their RB20 on the Shanghai International Circuit.

Wolff shares view on Hamilton sprint pole-denying call
Toto Wolff has had his say on the call made by the FIA to reinstate Lando Norris' lap time in the final moments of sprint qualifying at the Chinese Grand Prix.
Had the original decision stood, Lewis Hamilton would have claimed pole position for the sprint. However, his team principal at Mercedes ultimately thinks the right outcome was reached, even if it was at the expense of his team and driver.
