The Chinese Grand Prix is set to avoid a large threat of rain in the Shanghai region, according to RacingNews365's weather partner, WeerOnline.

In south-eastern China, there is forecast to be a lot of rain over the weekend, with thunderstorms a possibility, with the threat of localised flood warnings.

On Sunday, a large-scale rainstorm is to move north-east towards Shanghai, but looks set to miss the city.

Race day will be dry with sunshine in the morning, but turning cloudy towards race time, which is 3pm local.

However, should the rain move on a more northern path, it could affect the race, with the temperature around 20 degrees and a weak to moderate wind from the north - which translates to a cross-wind from the left along the pit-straight.
