  1. Alonso was surprisingly slow for his standards & even got out-qualified again.
    Somewhat weird race weekend overall.

    1. Alonslow. Maybe if he spent less time moaning he’d have made it into Q3

  2. That was a decent lap from Charles with a car that still didn’t get any updates. Sometimes I wonder if they (Ferrari) are really there to fight for the championship or just to spend time and have fun. Please don’t hurry to bring updates, you can bring them all after the championship decided and dusted. What joke team indeed.

    1. What’s the point of bringing upgrades in a Sprint weekend ? Teams face a time crunch for correlation work to assess upgrade efficacy. Ferrari plans their first major upgrade package for Imola. McLaren introduced a B-Spec car this week and they are all over the place.

      1. While I respect your opinion, my point is, if you’re in a position to catch up and really willing to catch up with the most dominant team in F1 history, then logic says you should bring updates before them. Although having the dominant car ready for the season opening, they introduced their first update back in Japan long before Ferrari’s (one-year-old-looking) car.
On the other hand, I really think McLaren took a big step forward but can’t see the results due to the very hot surface of the circuit. The next race in Europe, things may change to their favor.

      2. Stella said McLaren’s upgrade was delivered earlier than planned – probably considered that it was better to install and learn than leave performance on the shelf (& have the same set of unknowns next race).
Seems like single lap soft tyre prep/longevity is the curly bit this week anyway – not all that related to the aero changes he detailed on the broadcast.
